Frequently asked questions
My steps aren't counting. What can I do?
Most of the time it's a permission or a sync delay. Try these:
- Check step access. On iPhone, open the Health app → your profile picture → Apps → StepsMaxxing, and make sure Steps and Walking + Running Distance are turned on. You can also ask again from the You tab in StepsMaxxing.
- Open StepsMaxxing. The app syncs when you open it and a few times a day in the background.
- Using a watch or band? Make sure its own app has synced into Apple Health. Steps that reach StepsMaxxing more than 3 days late don't count for leaderboards.
- Typed the steps in by hand? See the next question.
Why don't steps I added by hand count on leaderboards?
Only steps measured by a device count in challenges, competitions and leaderboards, so everyone's playing by the same rules. Steps you add by hand still count toward your own goal and streaks.
My big day says "under review". What does that mean?
Congratulations on a big day! A day over 50,000 steps, or 10 times your usual average, counts up to 50,000 while our support team takes a quick look. It's a routine check, not an accusation. If everything looks normal, the rest is added back. Your employer's HR team never sees these checks.
I'm changing phones. Will I lose my steps?
Not if you've signed in. Install StepsMaxxing on your new phone and sign in with the same Apple or Google account. Your history, friends, streaks and teams come with you, and your old phone stops syncing with "Syncing moved to your new phone". This also works when switching between iPhone and Android.
If you never signed in, your data lives only on the old phone. Sign in there first to keep it.
Is StepsMaxxing on Android?
Not yet. StepsMaxxing is starting on iPhone, and Android is coming soon. If your company invited you, we'll email you the moment it's ready. When it launches, Android and iPhone users compete together under the same rules.
How do I report or block someone?
- Report: tap the person, photo, name, post or group, then tap Report. A reported photo is hidden until we review it. We aim to act on reports within 24 hours.
- Block: tap the person, then tap Block. They won't be able to see you, invite you or interact with you.
Something urgent or not covered by the buttons? Email us (below).
Who can see my steps?
Friends see today's and this week's totals unless you hide them. Colleagues see only your competition total. HR never sees anyone's individual steps. The full details are in our privacy policy.
How do I delete my account?
In the app: You → Privacy → Delete account. No app any more? See delete your account.
